Things to do in Quarantine
Feeling bored? Is this quarantine thing really ruining your daily routine? No, absolutely not. Why don’t you try and take a break for yourself. OK…..I can understand you are under that work from home pressure. But I don’t think your boss is going to find out if you are really serious with your office work🤣. Just kidding. I’m not saying quite your work but just do something for yourself. After-all we all have to really strive hard after this whole thing gets over.
So let’s start. Here are few things that I think might keep you away from boredom.
1)Cook new recipes
I was 12 when I really went to the kitchen not to eat, but to cook. Ever since then I love that place, but still I’m not a good chef, not yet. But even if you mess up with one dish, you still have that feeling to try it again. I’m really fond of baking cakes, but till today I’ve just never got that thing right. I know you can’t master in just few days, but if you start you will fall in love with cooking. You can search out for recipes on Google or YouTube, there are many options available.
2)Read something
There are a lot of options available for reading. I love reading books, but not always. It solely depends on my mood. If you don’t like to read books you can listen to audio books. And reading is not limited to just books, there are lot more things to read, magazines or some online content. Just read whatever you find interesting.
3)Think about the thing u wanted do in childhood
Just go deep inside you and ask yourself what was the thing you always wanted to do. I remember mine was becoming an actress. I’m not actually an actress, but have worked in dramas and short film. I’m happy that I’m at least trying to do my best to fulfill my wish. Try to recall, even you may have something like that. I know you can’t do everything right now, but at-least you can plan how you can do it later.
4)Create a bucket list
Life is really bore without aims and goals. I know most of us try to live our life to the fullest but its impossible without a bucket list. A bucket list reminds you of the thing which you always wanted to do, feel, hear or see. Actually bucket list is something we used to create in teenage, but its OK if you are no more a teenager, you can still create one. I will soon post on ideas to create a bucket list. So don’t worry about that, I will guide you.

5)History reading
India has a rich history and its worth reading. If you don’t want to read you can watch videos on YouTube. There are so many heroes and each story really inspires you. You can take a look at how people in those days lived, how the king ruled and lot more things. Specially, how India got independence and the contributions of various freedom fighters. We can never forget the struggle and pain they took to free the upcoming generation. The younger generation must know about all the gems of Indian history. Why don’t you learn a few things and share them with your kids or the younger generation?
6)Write a journal
Writing a journal is really an amazing idea. Its like capturing every single moment of your day in the form of word. I started writing journal when I was 12 years old and even today when I open and read those things it really brings a smile on my face. You should at least give it a try. You can store your memories now and unlock them them later in future.
7)Try Something New
Trying something new is like putting a step forward towards knowing yourself. You can discover your hidden talents by always trying something new. And of course you are not going to lose anything. You will either have a good lesson or a good experience. I remember I started writing poetry and now I just love that work.
8)Learn a Foreign language
Learning a foreign language helps you in many ways. Its helps you connect with different people and you will really enjoy learning it too. There are many free or paid online tutorials on foreign languages. Now, learning a new language can be a bit tough in the beginning, but once you are determined to do it, it becomes much easier.
9)Look into your wardrobe
In our busy day-to-day life we don’t even have the time to look if what we are wearing suits us. Just give some time to your wardrobe. Clear off the stuff which you don’t wear or think about the ways in which you can upgrade your wardrobe. The way you dress, reveals your personality. You can try to look which colors suit you the most and what kind of dresses you are comfortable with. Even these things are available on YouTube so don’t worry you will get everything just by sitting in one place. This is really a good time to improve your dress sense, so I think you should not miss it.
10)Increase your knowledge
I remember I bought an encyclopedia when I was in 5th std and its been almost 3-4 years it is in place where the spiders had done their amazing art work. But just a few days ago, while I was cleaning my bookshelf, I found that one and went through some of the pages. Well, its a good thing to gain knowledge.
One thing I would recommend you is peep into the world of Ayurveda. Here is a website, you can read it here: https://www.ayurveda.com/resources/articles/ayurveda-a-brief-introduction-and-guide
11)Connect with your friends
I know life feels like almost worthless without friends. And though we can’t walk out and reach our beloved one, we can at-least chat or voice call or video call them(whichever you are comfortable with). You can call your school friends and swipe up some dust from the old memories, recreate them (if possible). Or you can even make new friends, but that’s a whole new thing. Try, if you can.
So that’s it for me. If you have more ideas, why don’t you leave them in comment section or you can tell me what you do to avoid that boredom in these quarantine days.
