How To Choose Right Career?
June 26, 2021
This is the question that troubles many of the students and their parents. I used to really ignore this question whenever someone asked me because I had been changing my decision weekly. It was like, if today I said doctor, few days later I would say journalism. Sometimes the parents are really pressurizing their children by asking such question frequently. I know its just their love and concern which makes them do so, but it should be done in a right way. And once you know your child perfectly, you will know what the right way is.
Choosing a career which suits you is really a challenging thing, if you don’t know yourself, your likes and dislikes. At the same time it becomes super easy, once you know everything about you and understand yourself. Now, if you want understand yourself or your hidden talents, you really have to spend time with yourself. But here is an alternative, there is a test called DMIT test which allows you to discover yourself. The DMIT test is the Dermatoglyphics Multiple Intelligence Test and is a scientifically and medically proven method of revealing intelligence, inborn skills, talents and potential.
I took the test when I was in class 10th , and its super easy and quick, all they do is just take your fingerprints and give you the reports in a period of time. It really helped me to find out my hidden talents like music and learning a language, etc. You can get more information about this once you Google it.
Now, if you don’t want to go with reports right now, you can check out the steps that I think might help you to choose a right path.
Step 1: Discover your personality type and behavior
As I said earlier, you really have to know yourself in order to find your right career. You can ask your friend, a really close friend that knows you very well, but don’t stop till just one, ask most of your friends and see what answer you get in common. You can ask yourself too, infact that would be much better.
Step 2: Look how you study different subjects
Each person has his/her own learning style. Some are good and quick learners, some really love to do practical work or some go with the theory. Look at your report card and note down the subject that you can learn really very quickly and in which you easily scored good in. It can be a language or science subject or math or computer.
Step 3:Find your Passion
You can really earn from your passion. Imagine doing a job which you love to do always and forever. When you follow your passion, money follows you. But you should know how to earn from your passion. Remember "Where there's a will there's a way"
Step 4: Career option that you would like to do
Then create list of the careers you would like to choose. Don’t list too many, just note down a 2-3 options. Before you note down those few make sure you have studied well about it. Check the subjects you will have to study for getting qualified and what actually you need to do when you get a job. One most important thing, don’t choose something because of high pay scale. Remember, you chose an career in which you enjoy doing your work and when you enjoy your work, you come up with new ideas to make it more better that’s how you will get paid according to your hard work and skills.
Step 5:Sum up every thing
Now that you have listed everything just look for a career option which suits you personality and behaviour, is your favourite subject and you always love doing it. Remember, don’t chose your career because of high pay scale.
So these were some of tips that I think might help you. Now just grab your pen and start listing them. Its more better if you sit in a quiet place while listing them.
